Customer Data Collection
Meta collects the following customer data for Meta Quest for Business:
- Name
- Email address
- Username and password
- Work title and department information
- Billing and payment information
This data is used by Meta exclusively to:
- Provide and enhance Meta Quest for Business
- Promote safety, integrity, and security
- Comply with applicable laws

Visibility of Managed Meta Accounts
When using a Meta account managed by your organisation, the following information may be visible to your organisation:
- Personal Information: Name, employee ID, department, job title
- Contact Information: Location, phone number, email address
- Account Information: Admin role, account creation date, account status (e.g., activation)
- Authentication Method: Password or single sign-on (note: admins cannot see your password)
- Security Information: Login history, device used, invalid two-factor authentication attempts, logout times, password changes
This information is only accessible to individuals within your organisation and is not visible to external parties.
Meta horizon profiles in Meta Quest for Business
Meta Horizon Profile Creation and Management
When a person logs in to a Meta Quest device in Individual mode with their managed Meta account for the first time, they must create a Meta Horizon profile. During this process, they will:
- Choose a username
- Set their name
- Select an avatar
- Upload a profile picture
The Meta Horizon profile enables users to access blended and immersive reality experiences on Meta Quest devices and shapes their virtual appearance in VR.
Important Note: If your organisation's admin deletes your managed Meta account, your Meta Horizon profile will also be deleted. While you cannot delete your own managed Meta account, you can delete your Meta Horizon profile if needed.
Visibility of Meta Horizon Profile Information
Meta Horizon profile details, such as username, avatar, and mutual followers, are visible to other users in Meta Horizon experiences, including individuals outside your organisation.
The extent of what is visible to others depends on your privacy settings.
Difference between managed Meta accounts and Meta Horizon profiles
Managed Meta Account:
- Created and managed by your organisation.
- Assigned to individuals within the organisation.
- Organisations have the ability to deactivate or delete these accounts.
Meta Horizon Profile:
- Required when logging in to a Meta Quest device with a managed Meta account in Individual mode.
- Allows access to blended and immersive reality experiences.
- Functions as a social profile that defines how users appear in VR.

Delete a Meta Horizon profile connected to Meta account
Delete the Meta Horizon profile associated with your managed Meta account
- Log in to Accounts Centre.
- Navigate to "Your information and permissions" in the left-hand menu.
- Locate the "Delete Meta Horizon profile" option and click "Delete."
- Carefully review the details about what deleting your Meta Horizon profile entails.
- Confirm by clicking "Delete profile."
